Getting to JX Bear Lake Ranch
The Bear Lake Valley is where JX Ranch began over a century ago. It is where we call home and where our cattle are for summer grazing. We have two locations at JX Bear Lake that welcome riders during the summer months both of which are within 45 minutes of Bear Lake’s recreational center.
Montpelier Canyon Forest area (Whitman Hallow Campground on the map) is ideal for any rider that wants a genuine cowboy experience. The landscape is rugged and beautiful and with the number of cattle here you’re sure to round up and even “cut” cows. Green Canyon Forest Area (Crossley Hollow on the map) is perfect for a scenic cowboy experience. While you push cows to water or different pasture areas you’ll get to experience breathtaking views overlooking Bear Lake.
Green Canyon Forest Area
- From Garden City, Utah, head north on US-89 N toward St. Charles for approximately 12 miles
- Turn left onto 200 N
- 200 N turns left and becomes Green Canyon Road.
- Continue on Green Canyon Road for approximately 3 miles.
Montpelier Canyon Forest Area
- From Garden City, Utah, head north on US-89 N toward Montpelier for approximately 30 miles
- Turn left onto N 4th St for 0.3 miles
- Turn right onto US-89 N/Canyon Rd for approximately 6 miles.
- The destination will be on your left.
